3M Speedglas 9100XX FX Adflo Air Fed Welding Helmet

The 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Air Welding Helmet is the perfect kit for welders who want to keep their lungs, as well as their eyes, healthy in challenging work environments! This 3m welding helmet gives top of class respiratory protection. Its improved filtering system now protects to the exacting standard of TH3 (see page 35) keeping welding fume and other irritants away from your lungs.

Other benefits of this top of the range design are the superb clear vision and wide viewing area for a flip-up helmet design. Incorporating the Speedglas 9100XX, auto darkening welding filter gives this air fed welding helmet highly variable dark shades, between 5 & 13: giving users enough versatility to work on multiple types of arc welding job, with the same welding helmet! .   With the welding filter flipped up, the large (17 x 10 cm), clear visor gives an excellent view of the work area through its curved, shape. This is excellent for the grinding and cleaning phases of the job. 

The Speedglas 9100XX ADF is controlled by 3 sensors which give the filter a superb reaction time of approximately 0.1 ms even down to weld currents as low as just 1amp! The Speedglas filter has a dark to light time that is user adjustable between 40 & 1300ms.

The 9100FX comes ready to connect with a powered filter unit like the Adflo & Versaflo, or alternative air supply systems. 

3M’s impressive Adflo unit is powered by a redesigned Lithium Ion (Li Ion) battery pack, that’s more than 40% lighter than its predecessor NiMH battery pack! Despite the weight saving, the new battery lasts just as long as the old design and charges faster.

The 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Respirator is a smart, compact design. Its continuous filtered airflow is an effective cooling aid and can reduce excessive sweating when the temperature of the job and workplace rises. 3M™’s Adflo powered air respirator, delivers increased protection to your lungs and improved comfort all day long. 

The Adflo unit pulls air in through a spark arrester first; then through a pre-filter and particulate filter. A gas filter is an optional alternative to the particulate filter, to provide additional protection to your respiratory system when noxious vapours might be present in the workspace. The filtered air passes through the breathing tube to disperse inside the welding shield. The positive air pressure pushes out against any air currents that would bring unfiltered air into the breathing space in front of the welder’s mouth and nose, while the steady inflow of filtered air and the soft face seal keep dirty, polluted air outside the welding helmet.
